Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How accurate is the estimate?

It uses the official IRS 2025 brackets and standard/itemized deductions. The federal income tax number is accurate when wages and withholding match your W-2. It does not include AMT, EITC, education credits, or self-employment tax adjustments.

Q. Does it include state tax?

It provides simplified flat-rate estimates for CA, NY, TX, FL, and WA only. Real state taxes are progressive with brackets and credits that vary — use your state's official tax tables for exact numbers.

Q. Is my data stored anywhere?

All inputs are stored locally on your device only. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Your financial data never leaves your phone.

Q. How does the Child Tax Credit work?

The app applies up to $2,000 per qualifying child under 17, with the standard phaseout starting at $200,000 (single) or $400,000 (MFJ) AGI. The refundable portion limit ($1,700/child) is not modeled — for refunds beyond your tax liability, consult IRS Form 1040.

Q. Why are ads shown?

The app is 100% free with no subscription. Ads via Google AdMob help support continued development and maintenance.
